Awareness Program and TOT

The Extension component of the Institute For Silkworm Seed Technology Research (ISTR), Kodathi, functions as an essential mechanism for conducting awareness programme, transfer of technologies (ToT) and field-level dissemination of CSB-recommended practices in silkworm seed production and related activities. It ensures that research findings, package of practices, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) are effectively communicated to implementing agencies and stakeholders.

The Extension activities include on-farm and off-farm demonstrations, technical advisories, exposure visits, field inspections, and interactive programmes for State Department officials, silkworm seed producers, entrepreneurs, and other stakeholders. These interventions facilitate adoption of improved technologies, quality control measures, and disease management protocols.

Technology Dissemination

The Institute is engaged in disseminating the technologies through on-farm demonstration through Group discussion, ToT, Awareness programme, Vichara Ghosthi, Resham Krishi Melas, etc. organized by various DOS/CSB units and also through the training programmes organized at the Institute. The feedback information on the impact of various technologies are also being collected for further fine tuning of these technologies for providing maximum benefit as per the need of the industry.
